PARENTS AND STUDENTS:
ALGEBRA 1 CP IS A FAST PACED CLASS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE PLANNING ON COLLEGE. THE FINAL EXAM IS WRITTEN BY THE MATH TEACHERS HERE AT THE SCHOOL.

I. Materials
A. 3 ring binder
B. pencil
C. loose leaf notebook paper
D. red (or green) pen
E. ruler or straightedge
F. graph paper
G. calculator (optional)
II. Homework and Notebook
A. homework
1. assigned daily. Assignments posted on Renweb a week in advance.
2. due the next day
3. Should be checked with red or green pen
4. Most assignments will be graded
5. Late assignments receive a 50% deduction
6. If a student is absent they should take notes and attempt the homework
B. notebook
1. An organized notebook is useful for studying for quizzes and tests.
2. The organized notebook will be graded as a project.
3. Dividers are very useful to organize sections of notes, homework, and quizzes/tests.
III. Grades
A. Quarter grades are based on the following:
1. Tests and projects: 50%
2. Quizzes: 25%
3. HW/CW: 25%
IV. Cheating Policy
A. The following will be considered cheating:
1. Copying or allowing others to copy any work except notes or classwork missed due to absence.
2. Any attempt to gain or give assistance of any kind on any work to be graded unless given permission by the teacher.
V. other rules
A. all work to be done VERY LEGIBLY in PENCIL! Work done otherwise will be redone.
B. Test WILL be announced.
C. quizzes MAY NOT BE announced.
D. STUDENTS ABSENT THE DAY OF A TEST OR QUIZ WILL TAKE THE MAKE-UP THE FOLLOWING DAY.
